Frequently Asked Questions

  • What are the site's minimum technical requirements?
    • Browser: IE 7, Firefox 2+, Safari 3+
    • Javascript: highly recommended for all services and required for full integration with Google Maps
  • How do I login?
We have two ways to login, and your role dictates which method you will use:
    1. A UNC Member — If you are a member of one of the constituent UNC campuses, UNC-General Administration, or UNC-TV, then you will be able to login to the system using the same userid and password that you currently use to read your email and access other types of local services.
    2. An External Member — If you are not an official UNC member, then you will able to login by creating an account associated with the email address of your preference. During the account creation process, you will receive an email that contains an activation code to ensure you are the proper owner of the email address. Once confirmed, you will be able to create a new password and login to the website.
  • Are my authentication credentials and personal information secure?
    • Yes. For all members of UNC (see #2 above), you provide your userid and password directly to your home campus; all transmissions between organizations that contain personally identifiable information are encrypted, and only authorized personnel may view such information. For external members (see #2 above), your authentication credentials are provided directly to the system via an encrypted communication channel. All credential information is hashed to prevent retrieval, and all personal information is restricted authorized users only. Your information will never be shared with any other entity.
  • Who may use the Exam Proctoring Network?
    • Anyone may browse the site and search for exam proctors. However, only students who are currently enrolled at constituent institutions of The University of North Carolina may login and invite a proctor. Faculty have access to proctor verification to ensure approved and qualified participants are proctoring their exams. Please see the full service offering section of the website for more information.
  • Who do I contact with general questions?
  • What Open Source resources were used in the building of this web site?
